Amidst the turbulent city emotion and changing weather in Hong Kong, the annual congress 2019 preparation is under steam. Following the success in last year with title of “Build and Brighten- Child and Adolescent Orthopaedics in the next decade”, the organizing committee led by Dr. KK Wong and Dr. Albert Hsu took my suggestion of title this year, “Rebuild and Rebrighten- Aging Orthopaedics to the next century”. As a joint surgeon I fully aware the impact of aging on the patient demand and waiting time, not mentioning we have the longest life expectancy here in Hong Kong. This year we also have participation of the Hong Kong Society of Surgery of the Hand which i believe, is the first time. Besides, a pre-congress satellite symposium on “Best practice in Ortho-Geriatrics will surely stimulate your appetite.

Our HKOA dragon boat team has started practicing this year and swear to sing “we are the champion” again. You are all welcomed to join on board or on land to cheer them up.
