Dear colleagues and friends,
 
    It is our great pleasure to announce that the 35th Annual Congress of the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association (HKOA) will be held at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Conventional Centre from 6 November to 8 November 2015.
    Fifty years ago, a handful of Hong Kong Orthopaedic surgeons, including the late Professor A R Hodgson and Sir Dr. Harry Fang, formed the HKOA. With their vision and wisdom, we have witnessed the astonished development of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in Hong Kong.  We have been holding annual congresses as a long tradition with many successful events in the past.  The Congress not only serves as an important platform of updating our knowledge and experience sharing, it also keeps us connected with our international counterparts. 
   In the celebration of the HKOA’s 50th anniversary, we have put “Return to Roots, Pursue our Future” as this year’s theme. The organizing committee has planned a series of scientific programmes embracing all the major subspecialties in Orthopaedics.  Looking back at the time tunnel of orthopaedic development of Hong Kong, the management of musculoskeletal problems has changed from the Hodgson’s era of Hong Kong Operation for spinal tuberculosis to navigation and minimal invasive orthopaedic surgery. Despite all these astonishing achievements, our commitment to quality care for our patient remains the same. And it is this spirit of the local orthopaedic surgeons that would uphold our next generation to pursue further achievements in the future.  We look forward to working with every one of you throughout the next 50 years and beyond.
  Apart from the numerous academic activities in the Congress, may we also welcome you to the congress banquet on 7th Nov 2015.  It would surely be an excellent occasion  to share food and laughters as we celebrate our 50th anniversary with friends and colleagues from around the world.
